What can i offer?
I am very passionate about my rallying and always take the role of the co-driver very seriously. I do however enjoy a good laugh and a beer at the end of the day whatever the result.
I have competed on many tarmac single venues and multi venues and also many forest events. I can easily adapt to a drivers requirements when it comes to note calling and have used many types of note variations and maps to guide the driver through the stages.
I have used international timing aswell as the commonly used national timing and always try to carry out my role professionally no matter what the car/driver/rally may be.
I am now currently competing in rallies in Latvia with Dom Scott. Due to his age i must drive the road sections on the rallies, as well as carry out the navigating and timing duties. We also make our own pace notes and recce every event there.
So where did it all begin?
I first started spectating on rallys at the tender age of 4 years old. My dad would take me along into freezing cold forests where i would stand and be amazed by what i saw.
By the time i reached 13 i pestered him constantly to join a motor club. I joined Whitby and district Motor Club aged 14 and started competing on 12 car events at 15 navigating for my dad. I then went on to navigate for other club members in more competitive machinery.
At 17 i started college which is where the partnership with Andy Davison began. We decided to have a go at a road rally as we were very successful on the smaller 12 car events. The road rally was a long stressful night but still very enjoyable. We decided that stage rallying was our game and Andy bought the little Talbot Samba. We made our first rally the Xmas stages at croft and never looked back.
In my first year rallying i won class in the Scottish Tarmac Championship and also in the North Of England Tarmac Championship. In early 2004 Andy and myself parted company and i went on to co drive for a number of drivers throughout 2004. Early 2005 i met Gary Scott and we have been rallying ever since. I also sit with several other drivers when the events dont clash with those with Gary.
